Alexander McCall Smith

Post by Angela Stripes »

Anyone read one of Alexander McCall Smith's works? A friend recently highly recommended him to me. He's written so many, I'm not sure where to start.

Any thoughts or specific recommendations are welcome! :tiphat:

I haven't heard of him. He does have a lot out there though. I looked him up on Amazon. If you do read him, let us know what you think.

The "No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency is a series of books by Smith that I find quite enjoyable. The books seem quite "homey" considering they are set in Botswana.

If you ever listen to books on tape / CD I recommend that for these books. The accent of the reader lends a real flavor.

Thanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind.

The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency is a fun series. There are a lot and I haven't made it all the way through yet.
