I don't think you can go wrong with any of her books. They are very fast reading, sometimes somewhat predictable - yet very hard to put down.

She writes a great story but I find her style a bit stilted. I read her older books back when they first came out - in the 70-'s and I recall that they weren't as wordy and stilted as they are now. I would start there. Still enjoy reading her though and recently read "Winners" - excellent book.

Silent Honor, Message from Nam, no Greater Love and Zoya are probably my favorites. I stopped reading her after The Klone and I. The books got....weird after that IMO

I'm a diehard of Danielle Steel. My mom read her books and my first one was my mom's first. The Promise. I will say that at first I was hesitant since my mom had said both of my parents names were the main characters names. So I thought she just had this personal attachment. Coincidence? No not after I read it. I was hooked. I think I was about 17 at the time. Finished in no time and read all of her earlier books. I love a good love story but it's not just love stories, she gives the tragedy, heartbreak, trials and overcoming the toughest situations. I don't have a favorite because I like so many but Second Chance, The Dating Game, Fine Things, Crossings to name a few ah hell I love all of her books the only one I feel was difficult for me was The Klone & I. No Greater Love and Friends Forever were also amazing. I better stop or I will rattle off all of her books

I agree with The Klone & I but her books went back to normal after that! I did ask myself several times what in the world is this?! Lol!

I have to say, I have been a Danielle Steel fan since I was a teenager and I love her books. Yes, she does write about love and there is always some sort of tragedy but she has several that have some sort of historical flare to them. She has done books that include the historical content on the Holocaust, the sinking of the Titanic, the bombing of Pearl Harbor and what happened to the Japanese American afterward. She does her research on the historical events she writes about and does a wonderful job of capturing the content in the books.

Same as Sveta, I loved her when I was a teenager. I got bored with her style. However, until now, I can still remember the storyline of these 3 books. I guess, I consider these the best I read among her books.

- Star
- The Promise
- Remembrance

I somehow become very sad after reading her books. Johnny Angel and The Gift were two of her books which I liked very much.

I read a few, Crossings, Full Circle, Zoya, Lone Eagle, Accident, Silent Honor. I enjoyed Crossings most of all.

I would recommend Kaleidoscope, Fine Things, and Zoya. All are some of her older books, but very good reads.

"A Night in Paris" is my favorite. It has a bit of a different feel from some of her more campy romances.

I wouldn't call her one of my absolute favourites, but I did enjoy 'Zoya' about a Russian woman during and after the Revolution.

It amazes me that an author can be so prolific. It is hard for me to believe that each book can truly be original when so many a pumped out so rapidly. I'm sure she just set up a formula and chugs them out.
