I don't think I ever read James and the Giant Peach for some unknown reason. I loved the movie so I'm not too sure what happened there. Of course, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a classic! I just recently re-read that onegali wrote:Mine are: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, Fantastic Mr Fox.

The girls really loved Matilda too.
Dahl's imagination and writing makes reading the books aloud fun for the whole family.

That's awesome that the whole family enjoys him He seems like a good fit for adults and children to enjoy.ThankfulMom1 wrote:Our family loves Roald Dahl! We bought a set of Roald Dahl books for the girls earlier this year - and have enjoyed all of the stories. The BFG is currently in our nightly rotation, as well as the Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Twits, James and the Giant Peach and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

That was the first book to get me hooked on reading. All of his books are wonderful though. My second favorite is probably The Witches.
