John Green is my man for sure. He livened all of my English classes. I'll never forget where I was when I first read "Looking For Alaska". The book meant that much to me.

Why the need to choose. I think they are both great authors.
Although if you had to ask who would I rather meet, then I'd definitely choose John Green.

I can't say as I have not read a John Green book yet. I have a few on my to-read list. I have read a number of Nicholas Sparks books. I enjoy his books because there is typically a twist and also they are set in North Carolina.

I would have to go with John Greene. His books are some of my favorites, and I think he is a fantastic author for teen-adult readers.

I have never read anything by John, I am a huge Nicholas Sparks fan. I love his style and I can really immerse myself into the story. I will have to check out some of John Green's books to see which I prefer

Following this thread! I've read a handful of Nicholas Sparks books over the years and John Green is fairly new to me and I have been interested in reading his books, but just never got to it yet. Though, I feel like I might like his books more than Sparks. Sparks' seem to have the same type of "feeling" in his love stories and, to me, it can get kind of old (even while they are still good stories).

Good topic :)

I would have to say John Green although I do enjoy Nicholas Sparks as well. John Green is very philosophical and really digs deep into readers thoughts. I've enjoyed all his books and even his youtube channel as well!

Nicholas Sparks by a long shot. I feel like John Green doesn't always wrap his stories up or he leaves his readers asking why they just read this.

I first heard about John Green in my freshman world history class. He had some crash course videos that made history a bit more interesting. He is a very unique individual and his books are funny and emotional at the same time.

I definitely am a Nicholas Sparks fan. I like John Green sometimes, but I like Nicholas Sparks all the time. I've never read a book of his that I didn't like.

It's really a toss up. I love reading both authors, I've read more John Green than I have Sparks but both enjoyable reads.

I don't think Sparks and Green are really comparable, honestly. Sparks writes adult/mainstream/romance, and Green writes YA. I've read a few Sparks novels, but they didn't really interest me. John Green happens to be my favorite author though, so I'm highly biased. :P

I really like John Green as a person, but I started one of his books and couldn't get into it for some reason. Nicholas Sparks has great storylines, but I also am not sure I feel like I can finish these books. I have heard The Notebook as a book is better than the movie. I am guilty of seeing the movie before the book.

I haven't really thought about it, but I like John Green especially his writing style. It's simple yet powerful. It was like he is is talking about a distant memory. It's very sensual.
