Hello Again NadineTimes and welcome to the conversation Mindi, Angela Stripes, and ebethina. You know now that I think about it, it is pretty common for me to like the version that I seen or read first better. There are certain times where the opposite is the case, but not usually. ebethina, if you like Christian authors, you should try the Love Finds you series. Each of the stories are completely different and the authors are the books are different as well, and there is over 50 of them. I have rarely come across one that I don't love, and I don't get bored with them because the authors and stories are different. The stories also range from modern to historical.

Hello, csimmons032!

This conversation is really reminding me of Redeeming Love, by Francine Rivers.. Historical fiction, but Christian fiction.

Is the Love Finds series historical fiction, or all over the map?

I love Francine Rivers! She is definitely one of my favorite authors (along with Janette Oke). They are both amazing Christian Fiction authors. I really enjoyed Francine's Mark of the Lions series and for Janette Oke I loved A Woman named Damaris and Roses for Mama!

I used to read her books all the time. I would love to go back and reread some. I have read all of the Love Comes Softly series, Canadian West, and Once Upon a Summer. I have also read a few of her stand-alone books.

I used to Read Janette Oak a while ago. I was obsessed with the books so I started to watch the movies. They were both great. I finished the series of Love Comes Softly, and moved on to murder mysteries.

I have read several of her books and they are so good. I have enjoyed the movies, but those can never truly cover the books. I read Love Come Softly after I saw the movie and found them to be very different. I have decided that the author can, in a book, convey details of the character and his/her inner thoughts so much better than in a movie. The book was great, whereas the movie lacked so much.

I would love to read more of Janette Oke's books. I have Love's Unending Legacy and The Calling of Emily Evans. I once found Love Comes Softly but I was too late to buy it 😕

I have recently bought the series she wrote with Davis Bunn, Acts of Faith. What else from Janette Oke would you recommend?
