Robert Jordan, because as much as I love Branson Sanderson, it would have been great if Jordan could have finished his series himself.

Jane Austen because I would love to see her take on modern singles.

I would bring back Shakespeare. I would love to sit down with him and discuss his plays and his writing. I would also want him to be a sort of teacher for me in writing.

Rabindranath Tagore
A Nobel laureate of literature from India

Have read his short stories . What is absolutely stunning to me is the simplicity of his language through which he is able to move a person .

Writing at its finest ❤️❤️❤️

Mark Twain would be a hoot and maybe Jane Austen.

If you would like to hear an improv take on what some authors might have to say, check out the dead authors podcast. It is basically actor Paul F. Tompkins (as HG Wells) interviewing an author from the past (a host of other actors) that he has retrieved with his "time machine." These interviews were live in front of an audience for the most part and are really entertaining.

I would pick H.P. Lovecraft. Watching the man's head explode about everything from the black hole at the center of the universe (which he kind of predicted), to interracial marriage (the man was a giant racist, yikes). I'd also like to just, talk to him, get inside his head a little. It'd be nice to know what he thought at the end of his life.

Absolutely no contest: Anne McCaffrey. My favorite of her series are the Dragonriders of Pern but she has so many other wonderful books. I could read about the Pernese people for millenia! It just isn't the same with Todd trying to take the reigns... He is not a BAD author! He just isn't Anne...

These are all great choices, but I have to say Kurt Vonnegut. That man was a genius and I would kill for even an hour of his time. I could re-read his books daily (Slaughterhouse-Five being a favorite) and never get bored.

J.R.R Tolkien. He is the most amazing author that has ever lived.

Arthur C Clarke. I'd love to see what he would think of the current state of technology, and how it would change his writing.

Sylvia Plath...Although that may be selfish on my part I would love to know more about her.
Maybe I should come up with an alternate...
Lucy Grealy - memoir author of Autobiography of a Face. She's one of my fellow alumnus from Sarah Lawrence College in New York. She was an amazing person and writer.

I would like to see Shakespeare writing satire on current events, so I would definitely bring him back.

It would have to be Beatrix Potter for me. Her work has recently come back in to the public eye and I would love to see what creations she had that went unwritten.

Oh it would have to be Stieg Larsson! I would have loved to know his ending for The Millenium series (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo etc.)
