Yes, I agree, Terry Pratchett. Also to continue the story of the Long Earth, Long War and Long Mar.

Definitely Agatha Christie. She had such a varied and interesting life and also owned one of the most beautiful properties in the world - Greenway. My perfect day would be sat in front of Greenway House reading a good crime novel and sipping tea!

Leon Durham wrote:My choice would definitely be Stieg Larsson, the author of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I think his trilogy was absolutely brilliant. If you think you've read every spy thriller, think again. Elizabeth Salander is a fictional heroine you'll never forget.
I too would choose Larsson as his story lines come back to me often. Mark Twain as well to hear of his perspectives of the present.

Ditto. Jane Austen, I'm sure she would have some pithy observations about our times.

C. S. Lewis. He had a connection to god in such a beautiful way while he was alive. What I would give to have an hour with him just to talk one on one.

Agatha Christie and Jane Austen, two of my favorite authors.

I would like to see Sir Arthur Conan Doyle brought back. The new rules of evidence would sometimes baffle Sherlock Holmes, and it would be marvellous to see how Doyle coped with that and other modernities e.g., cell 'phones.

Isaac Asimov. I would love to hear his opinions and insights on technological advances, many of which he predicted 50 years before their invention. Wonder what he would predict for the coming 50 years.
Ray Bradbury. Ditto.

Edgar Allan Poe. We'd just get along so swimmingly, I'm sure.

Without question, Edgar Allan Poe. I'd want to meet him, talk with him, pick his magnificent brain...And of course, I'd love to see more work from him. His prose was so fluid and beautiful, in the darkest way.

Terry Pratchett. Hands down. I have many favourite authors, but couldn't think of anyone I'd love more to see writing again. It was just.. like he had so many stories left to tell! I still can't believe Terry Pratchett is gone. I haven't read another book of his since it happened - I guess I am afraid of the moment when there would be no more of his works left for me to read...

Almost too many to mention, but I'd definitely want to bring back Norman Mailer so he could finish the sequel to Harlot's Ghost. I really liked that book, all 1,300 pages....
