Kevin Brooks. It was love from the first read, I even skipped classes just to hide and read his books. They taught me more than school ever did for his fiction novels were so realistic!

I'm working on that now...Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child - both their co-authored books and their individual books. I'm obsessed with them!!! I only have a few left on the list that I haven't read yet and am anxiously waiting for more.

I also am working my way through a lot of the Michael Crichton, Dean Koontz, and Stephen King books, but I find that I'm not as anxious to read every single one, although I have read quite a few and still have a ton on my "want to read" list!

Later on I discovered Dan Brown and even now if I read a book that I like, I try to read at least one other book from the same author. Just to compare
I love everything Bronte! I could easily read and study their works simply for pleasure.
Life without a good book is something MrsCatInTheHat cannot imagine.

Edward Stratemeyer. I think I had read all the Nancy Drew series and the Hardy Boys by the time I was 16.

Dan Brown is also a personal favorite. I love the suspense and non-stop action he creates. I also appreciate his research about the historic locations he uses in his books. I wonder where he will take us now with Origins.

Haruki Murakami. Once I got introduced to his work, I've been swallowing his books one by one. Unfortunately, there were no smartphones when he became a budding writer and to get his book you had to wait in a queue for a few months!

The first author I HAD to read everything by was Johanna Lindsay....loved those historical romances way back when. Since then I've read just about everything by Nora Roberts (Mom got me into her!) And my all time favorite author...J. R. Ward - have read all of hers too!

I loved Antonia Forest's school books and I think I did read everything she wrote. Unfortunately I borrowed most of them from the library! Pretty sure they're out of print now, so I would love to scout around the second hand bookshops and build a collection.
This post was brought to you by the word "specifically".

Enid Blyton was definitely my first. As a primary school kid I devoured the Famous Five series, and have been recently rereading them. They are every bit exciting in my mid-twenties as they were back then. Then in secondary school I fell in love with Thomas Hardy and I've read all of his short stories, many poems and every novel except "The Laodicean", which I am saving up for a special occasion! I tend to want to read everything by an author once I get hooked though...

You must be an intellectual to fancy Thomas Hardy. I had The Return of the Native for College English Lit and I swear it was an agonizing heathen read haha.
