To be honest, I don't think I have a guiltiest pleasure author. I enjoy a lot of authors, but I don't really consider them to be guilty pleasures.

I have been a James Patterson fan for about 10 years at one point I had every book of his with the exception of the young adult series and two or three others. I hadn't read them all but I was determined to. I just love the mysteries and even the couple that were turned into movies, I love Alex Cross!

Meg Cabot. I can't wait until the next Princess Diaries novel comes out, I'm really happy that she decided to continue Mia's story.

Nicholas Sparks! I am not the romantic type, but I love every one of his books that I've ever read. I have read more of his books recently than any other authors', and I love it. My friends all roll their eyes and say I'm "such a girl" when I tell them that I have read a book by Sparks, but I can't help it! I will probably continue indulging in this guilty pleasure until I have read all of his book!

I really enjoy reading Nicholas Sparks' books! They are perfect for a vacation read ~ light, easy, and they play on many of our emotions. The movies are usually a huge disappointment in comparison!
I also really like Debbie Macomber, for many of the same reasons. One reason I have found and enjoyed her books is many of them are on my library's audiobook page. I am a runner and so during my daily runs, instead of listening to music, I whip through audio books! Not many authors have their books on audiobook online, so I am always pleased to find an author on there that I enjoy.

Philippa Gregory is easily my "guilty pleasure" author. Her series about the Tudors is fantastic and a little racy (hello, Henry VIII--how can it NOT be racy), and I just can't put them down. These are books I come back to over and over again, but only if I want a slightly trashy yet historical significant read.

As much as I love reading the classics and "serious literature," I have read every Dan Brown book out there. And I love reading David Sedaris -- I just love his style. Sometimes I just need to read something lighthearted. But I also love a good Agatha Christie mystery, too.

Victoria Holt. I don't know why I keep going back to her books. The characters are all the same. The settings are similar. The who-dun-it part I almost always figure out. So I do not know why I still feel the need to read every one of her books, but when I am at a library book sale or a used book shop, I inevitably exit with one of her books. However, I do not consider her books under her Jean Plaidy pseudonym guilty pleasure reads. I will admit to those.

I normally only read strictly romance, (that's what got me into writing it) but I recently read a book by a new author Rose Ariel about a space captain named Phelenara Swaggen. It's very graphic and extremely naughty, but I really enjoyed it. I could never admit that in public though!

My guiltiest pleasure author has to be Sophie Kinsella for obvious reasons. I have a love/hate relationship with her, but I do enjoy them for the most part.

Romance novels all the way. I feel like if people knew I read them, that I wouldn't be a true book lover because there's not much to most of them. Something about the alpha males in them keeps me coming back. Most don't provoke thought and I tend to go to them when I want a quick, light read.
