I've always wanted to read A Tale of Two Cities. I know the whole opening line but I haven't even read it

I love David Copperfield too. I have yet to read Bleak House. I have it downloaded, though.PashaRu wrote:David Copperfield, with Bleak House a very close second.

I felt a greater emotional attachment to DC than any other of Dickens' novels. It's hard not to feel drawn to the characters to which Dickens is sympathetic (such as Peggotty, Daniel Peggotty, Betsey Trotwood, Dora, Ham, Micawber, David himself, and, of course, Agnes). He wrote about them with such affection. And the antagonists, such as Uriah Heep and Steerforth, are so well constructed and developed.LittleWilma wrote:I love David Copperfield too. Bleak House is, in my opinion, one of the greatest works in English literature. It is among Dickens' most mature and ambitious works in story, scope, and complexity. I've read it several times, and it never ceases to impress. The sheer intellect and talent it took to write it is amazing.
