I really like your review. You gave a really good description of what the book is about. I really like the story's premise. I'm going to put this on my to read list.

Why would an inmate on death row have a pet turtle?
Sorry, that just seems odd
If we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.

We've all got light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are.

I enjoyed the sample of this book and your review explains a lot of the story.

I didn't like the drug references, being unfamiliar with the drug scene I didn't quite get the references. Otherwise this seems like a good book!

I read both reviews and the positive review may have been more positive than the negative review. With both reviews in mind, I definitely want to see a sample of the book so I can make a decision based on my own experience. Reading can be a very personal thing and it was interesting to see the two differing reviews. Thanks to both reviewers.

After reading the mixed reviews I gave the sample a try. I liked the characters and just from the one and a half chapters I have read, I will read the rest. Thanks for the insight.
