I thought I was a great book a little slow in the very beginning but the end was spectacular.

My favorite part of this book was the originality. When I was looking for a book that wasn't a textbook mystery. The mix of madness and mystery was intriguing. This was the first one of his I've read in English, so I can't really compare it well to the others, but in general, I usually like his. His aren't as fast-paced as some, but his writing and style make up for it.

The writing was beautiful and I felt captivated. I also am a sucker for hidden book secrets etc being tied into a novel. I ended up seeking out his other works, but I didn't find them to be nearly as good. It has been a year or so since I read it.. right now without it being fresh I say a 3 out of 4.. but when I first finished it... I was like woa. Who knows... if it is still with me in another year I might switch that to a 4 out of 4.
I love LOVE. <3

The setting of Barcelona in 1945 is very interesting as it is after The Spanish Civil War. The characters are interesting and mysterious which adds yet another dimension to the book. I would recommend this book to anybody interested in history or anything of that sort.

I love the title of the book. It is very interesting and compelling. Though I have not read the book as of yet but wish to start as soon as possible.
