Reimburse Paperback Purchases needs to not count to our Paid Review limit

Post by Allyseria » 12 Sep 2018, 09:25

Whenever a book shows that the only available format is a 'reimbursed paperback purchase', I think we should be allowed to have 1 reimbursed paperback purchase at a time that does not count into our 'paid review'. As I'm only a Level 4, I can only have 1 paid review at a time, so it discourages me from taking these reimbursed paperback purchases reviews because when I check how long it will take for the book to arrive, it's usually 5 days +. During this time, I could have finished 2 other paid PDF format reviews. I think this discourages reviewers from taking these reviews, and that's why there are so many reimbursed paperback purchases still out there.

In addition to that, there might need to be a few more days tacked on to the deadlines to account for the shipping days.

I haven't even seen any of these. Are they at the bottom of the page?

They aren't incredibly common. I see them more in the children's category. You will see them listed on your select tab mixed in with everything else. Instead of saying available format "Kindle Unlimited, pdf, epub, etc" it will say "Reimbursed paperback".

I haven't tried any of those books. The reimbursement (a fixed amount indicated) will not cover all expenses as I have to pay tax and postage on top of the book price. And delivery to my neck of the woods takes a month or more. Such is the pity as some of those books seem interesting.

I once got one of those and didn't pay any extra for the shipping when I ordered it. However, someone, whether the OBC, the author or the publisher, I don't know, paid for DHL express and it came from the USA to Europe within 48 hours. So I didn't lose much time.

I try to take only PDF or Kindle offers.

I know what you mean. Actually, I was expecting to select a .pdf to work on while waiting for the book to arrive, but as I say it came really quickly.
