i am having difficulty understanding how to make text bold and Italicized
am i supposed to press ctrl+ because its not working :(

The text inside the BBCode for code will bold or italicize, but only if you don't wrap it in the BBCode for code. That BBCode cancels any other BBCode within it. :tiphat:

There first post explains how it works, and if that doesn't help, you can Google how to use BBCode.

If you can't access the BBCode shortcuts, you can still manually type them in and they will work.
As for select all, you just want to wrap the text you want to bold/italicize.

This thread is specifically for practicing it, so you can try until you're sure you have it down. :tiphat:
