Volunteer vs official

I recently had my first review published and it was posted in the volunteer forum. What are the criteria that makes a person a volunteer reviewer as opposed to official? Is this based on reviewer score?

There are forum descriptions in the forum list:

Namely, the difference is that volunteer reviews are unpaid. Another issue is that many of those tend to have multiple reviewers reviewing the same book whereas more regular official reviews tend to have only one professional reviewer per book.

This may sound silly, but for the volunteer reviews - do they affect our reviewer score just as the official reviews?

I believe they do.
