Subscribing to a Forum

Post by Elephantom »

Hi, I'm trying to figure out if I can subscribe to the Book of the Month forum so I can be notified of new books, but I can only find an unhelpful answer in the FAQs regarding posting in a topic, but I want the whole Book of the Month forum (but not the discussion topics).

Thanks

To subscribe to the Book of the Month forum, or any forum to that matter, go to the bottom of its page.

You will see a line in black and on it the words: "subscribe forum". Press on it and you'll be subscribed.

I'm a bit confused about the idea of subscribing to forums. Are we supposed to be doing this or is it optional? What is the purpose or why would I want to subscribe? BTW, I don't seem to find the black line at the bottom of forums pages with "subscribe forum" on it, gali. Am I blind, or is this just a feature from the past (2013?)? TIA for your response! :)
PS...When I checked the FAQs, it said: "To subscribe to a specific forum, click the “Subscribe forum” link upon entering the forum. To subscribe to a topic, reply to the topic with the subscribe checkbox checked or click the “Subscribe topic” link within the topic itself." But I couldn't seem to locate where to find these "subscribe" words/links or where to click or check. Or...figure out why I'd want to??

A while back (when the look of the site got revamped) they dissapeared. I assume they weren't used enough to warrant keeping them. :eusa-think:

The topic subscribe is still available, though only when posting. :tiphat:
