Re: Email Verification Help

Post by Scott »

@bookowlie The bounce email is what triggers the software to automatically unsubscribe you and send the PM message. However, there is a broader concern. If AOL is blocking some emails to you with no notice to you, it's very unlikely that it is only happening with OnlineBookClub. If it wasn't for the unsubscribe message and/or PM notifying of the bounce, you may have not noticed you missed the email at all and I wouldn't have known you weren't getting it. It's hard to say what other emails from other senders you might also be missing with no notice to you from AOL, and those could be important. The problem doesn't seem to be with OnlineBookClub or with your specific account at AOL. The problem appears to be with AOL. Here's the reason: Other members with AOL email addresses report similar problems, and members from many other major providers like Gmail do not have this particular problem ever. We have 150,000+ members so there is a lot of data to go on. I don't understand why AOL wouldn't put suspected junk mail in a junk folder.

I have done everything and still none. Now I'm being told my account will be deactivated cause emails are bouncing back. But I haven't received one email since April 23. And nothing is in my SPAM folder nor is this address being blocked. It's on the list to allow emails being sent to me. I shouldn't have my account deactivated over something that isn't my fault.

Also, I receive all other emails, even responses to forums. But BOTD emails do not get sent. I don't know what else to do. It's not AOL cause I'm getting all other emails from there.

@MagicToDo930 To get support in this topic, please follow all 7 steps in the first post which include specifications for what information to share in the reply. Namely, I need to know what your email provider said when you contacted them about the problem.

I had followed all the steps and were still getting the same response. But today it worked with no problem. As for contacting AOL, that wouldn't happen. 1)I'm getting all emails there, this was the only one I couldn't get them from. and 2)When you call them you're on hold for hours. I don't have time for that.

@MagicToDo930 Contacting AOL is one of the steps.

The problem is on AOL's end. It's hard to be sure you are getting all other emails from other senders if AOL is bouncing suspected spam/junk with no notice to you.

@Vieve I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you mean when you say nothing happens. Does your web browser not load from your client? Or does it load but show a blank page? Can you walk me through exactly what happens with as much detail as possible? Thank you for your help with this.
