Suggestion for bookshelves

(Formerly the "Support, Feedback and Forum Announcements" forum.)
Please help us make Online Book Club even better! Please post suggestions, feedback and ideas for new features. Wild brainstorming and potentially 'crazy ideas' are super-strongly encouraged! :)

For new members (or old members who run into an issue), please make a post in this forum asking any questions you have about using the site and how it works that are not answered in the FAQ. Not only are we happy help you, but also we can use your feedback to make the site better for tomorrow's new member! A lot of the instructions throughout the site and answers in the FAQ are there because someone else pointed out that it wasn't clear before.

Suggestion for bookshelves

Post by Thea Frederick »

This is just an idea but I was thinking it might be nice if we can delete books from our shelves ourselves rather than have to report an error.
I don't know if that is a good idea or not, but it just sounded nice to me:-)

Only mods can do that to prevent misuse of the shelves, so you will have to report it.

You do have the option to remove books from your shelves. :tiphat:

Wait, I’m confused. Only moderators can remove the book from your shelves to prevent disabuse of the shelves. What would disabuse look like?
But if only mods can do it, how can I remove books from my shelf?

No. You can remove the books from your shelf, but you can't delete them.

To remove a book, just choose the last option: Remove.

If it isn't a real book and you want to delete it completely, you need to report it.

Ooooh, okay, that makes sense. Thank you. I didn't realize there was a distinction between removing a book from your shelf and deleting it.

But where do I report a book that is not real? I'm not sure where to find that.

Via the shelves, on the book page. The shelf FAQ explain about that.
