Problem: Kindle App won't open .mobi file (Solved)

I've never opened a mobi file before on my iPhone 6. I downloaded the kindle app and it still won't let me open the file. I downloaded it onto my cloud and still nothing. I don't have a computer to plug into at the moment either.

I did downloaded my first book for the month, but it's in an unreadable format.If at all possible,I would prefer to have the book in PDF format.

I downloaded the book using my Mobicel tablet.

@RoxInABox You can open the mobi file using the free Kindle App. Otherwise, if this is for the Review Team, you would need to submit an error report to change the file type.

I am on a ios apple ipad. when i click the link to download the free book it takes me to the app store, to the kindle app, even though I have already downloaded it. And if i go to the amazon website I can't download the book without paying for it. What do i do? Please help.

@"foranth16" It sounds like you didn't actually download the file but somehow downloaded an offline copy of the webpage from which you download the file. You'll need a .mobi file to open for the steps in this topic to work.
