I read from both my kindle and the good old fashioned paper variety book. I like them for different reasons though. I'm not sure that I read any faster from one than the other. However, the kindle allows me to read outside by the campfire or anywhere the lights are not so great. But there's something very comforting about holding a real book. I wouldn't give up either!

I read both in about the same time. I don't have a preference though so that might be why you take so much longer to read an e book.

Until I discovered this place, I wasn't really much for e-readers. I still prefer a physical book in my hand, but I'm not really in the practice of bringing my tablet places with me. My kindle app is on my computer, since that's where I spend most of my time when I'm home- on my phone or computer. I think I probably read a paperback/hardback book faster, but the first book I read on Kindle, I finished in the same amount of time I regularly finish a book; about 4-5 days. I'm still willing to use the Kindle app though, so maybe only time will tell if I can be converted :lol2:

I read paperbacks faster, they take up much less time as I don't get notifications and distractions while reading. Also after so long I feel like I have been looking at the screen too long and have to put it down, whereas books I can read for as long as I want to.

I think I read paperback a little bit faster but not by much. Probably just because I can take it more places than my pc. This would likely not be true if I had an actual kindle or nook, instead of the apps on my computer.

I enjoy reading books in either format but a prefer to read a hard copy book. I love to hold an actual book and flip through the pages.

It really depends on my mood. I usually finish the paper books faster because I can see them, but I tend to read my e-books for longer times without stopping, which also helps me finish it faster.

I think I tend to read a print book faster, not really sure why that it. I would think it would be the opposite!

For me the format of the book is irrelevant to the reading speed...
If the book is a good one and hooks me, then I read crazy fast no matter if it is an e-book or paperback!

I'd say I read e-books faster, because I can easily switch between the files and read more at a time so I can finish an e-book in 1-2 days, whereas paperbacks are my relaxing books - it depends on how often I get to relax, but a paperback can take weeks

I have to agree with the most of the answers here! It's the same - it heavily depends on the book I'm reading. I'm talking, of course, for my Kindle, for I can't read for long on the PC.

I've never liked e-books before my son was born, but being a new mom and a bookaholic isn't easy. To not wake up my baby I started reading on my phone and then I got used to it. Now, 3 years later, I read faster on a e-reader, tablet or phone because I can multitask while reading and I only need 1 hand ;)

To read a paperback I need to sit and have good light and sometimes I need my glasses, but ebooks can be read anywhere, at any time, with or without light and I can change the font size so I don't need my glasses.

I could say that now I'm a ebookaholic :)

I think I tend to go through ebooks faster. I tend to lose track of what I'm doing easier as I just have to swipe it than actually flipping the page. Plus I tend to read on Wattpad, so the stories are shorter and easier to go through.

I read e-books faster simply because of convenience. I always have my smartphone with me so I can read e-books whenever, wherever I want. Paperbacks on the other hand, I have to carry with me which is not always possible.

A paperback if I have the time to sit down and read it. Because with e-books, I'm doing multiple things on the computer at once and only read any one thing (except study notes) in flashes. With a paperback, all I have is the book (unless I'm reading under the table in a class or something...) and I'm not doing anything else so I can read uninterrupted.
