I use Overdrive which gives you access to tons of library books. I also use the kindle unlimited, which even though you have to pay for it, the fee is pretty nominal if you read a lot as opposed to buying the books.

There are some websites but one needs to be careful about the copyright issues.

Thanks for sharing. I did not know about LendKindle or about connecting with our local library online. This resources definitely makes getting books easier.

I think that Amazon offers that service, though it's not "ready for prime time" yet. When you buy a Kindle book it gives you the option to lend it to someone (unless the publisher restricts it). It's not well organized, though. You can't search for a book to borrow.
