I have Kobo and am really happy with it. It's affordable and works well. Check it out.

Nothing wrong with having two Kindles. I would add that if there's a chance you read the same type of books, if you get a Kindle or a device that you put a Kindle app on, you guys can share your books. You can set up your Amazon accounts to share your content within your household.

If you want a device to just read on, I would say Kindle is the way to go (although I've never used a Nook so I can't weigh in on those). If you want a tablet that will allow you to surf the net, play games, watch Netflix, then an Ipad or maybe an Ipad mini?

I used to read on my Ipad mini but my husband gave me a Kindle paperwhite for christmas and it's way better for just reading, if you read a lot/for a long time.

I, personally, think that everyone who loves reading should have a Kindle of their own. I think you should go for another one :)

My husband and I each have our own Kindle. We often sit outside and read at the same time, so there was no way we could share one. Occasionally we will read the same book, but not very often.

For the sake of sharing a library between the two of you or pitching in together for kindle unlimited. I would not recommend a nook and a kindle. Just make sure that whatever device you get, it still is able to download kindle.

Just about everyone in my family had a Kindle of their own for a while. With larger phone storage drives and more innovative tablets, though, now everyone just uses those instead, myself included. Although I do have 3 Kindles; a touch, an original fire, and a newer fire. I mostly use my phone with the Kindle app (I have the OnePlus 6), but it's good to have options.

I think it's better for each person to have a subscription of their own to e-Book apps even if they're part of a couple, so it's better to just go for Kindle.

Why not have two in the house? In my opinion it's a great idea. I got my 10 inch kindle fire tablet a year ago. My daughter loved it so much she wouldn't put it down. So for Christmas she got her own 7 inch fire kindle tablet. That way we both can use them at the same time.

Having two of the same device would be beneficial if you are wanting to read the same books. She can send them to you or lend them out digitally and you can download them onto your device. That could save you a little money so you don't have to buy multiple copies of the same book for one household.

I and my wife got a different version of kindle. Its good to have different versions as we get to use each other whenever we need. Also, there are two different accounts having collections which can be borrowed and read.

I gave my older first generation of kindle to my wife when I purchased the paperback thought we are using a single amazon account as we don't want to confuse with the books being purchased and downloaded but it is working great for both of us.

It's better if you each have your own kindle reader.

It would be smart to get a kingdle instead of an Ipad, that way you can use it for what you want instead of getting distracted, and they work great! :D

iPad would be better. Then both of you will have your own reading wishlist and different devices in the same house.
