My biggest lesson was to always push no matter the size of the obstacle in front of you. Brandy taught me this.

Brandy's experiences sailing showed how strong and determined she is. The way she is able to let go of her past life and move on, while still having a positive attitude gives readers hope! It encourages you to do your best and to keep moving forward no matter what challenges you face. I, for one, feel like I came out of reading the book with a much more positive mindset.

It taught me about patience and strength. It taught me to be patient when things don't seem to go my way. It also taught me to be strong both mentally, physically, and others because I will need to show that strength one day.

This novel taught me that life goes on despite difficulties. People would continue to exist regardless of their sorrows. And there's always a happy ending waiting for you.

This book taught me the importance of being strong. It showed me that we can overcome most challenges if we decided to face them headon.

I really agree with this, as well as the way that Brandy really held onto the idea and feeling of family and never gave up trying to avenge her family's murder. Another way I think Hendrickson really added the element of family well was how Skinner stuck with her and reinforced that ideal of family for Brandy which gave her that constant reminder of what she was running from and waiting to avenge.

I learned that the greatest weapon of the enemy is your weakness, and you shouldn't let them get hold of your weakness always show your strong side.

This book taught me the importance of perseverance. Throughout many harsh obstacles and hurtful betrayals, Brandy still kept going. She never gave up, and that inspires me to keep going as well.

Brandy shows that we don’t choose our family but we choose how we react to our circumstances and through every challenge she rises above. She doesn’t succumb to bad influences. She is strong minded and tough. Which is wonderful to see her succeed in life.
An inspirational book for young adults.

The biggest lesson this book thought me is the importance of good friendship. I honestly do not know where I would be without my friends. I also learned about strong will and the importance of perseverance.
