William's warm father-daughter attitude towards Lily is truly heartwarming. He pays great attention to Lily's musical talent. And what is the point of what others think when your heart is full of such warmth and love? The answer is simple - all sarcasm and irony against kindness is powerless. I really appreciate William's character for all his humanity and altruism.

Yes I definitely love William. The way he treats Lily is wonderful to see. Its clear he really doesn't care about the fact that she's black. And his efforts to help her were heartwarming.

I think when someone uses their privilege to go the oppressive or the not so privilege like them is commendable. For that, I applaud what William did for Lily. He acted like a responsible adult with a heart.

I love their relationship. It was lovely. Williams, himself was lovable and humble, despite being very rich. He kept on helping Lily despite having to face oppositions.

My favorite part of Lily and William’s relationship was how it completely counteracted Lily’s experience with her birth father. The character foil of the two of her father figures was both heartbreaking and heartwarming.

Yeah, I also think William behaved better as her father than her real father. His love for music inspires me but also the fact that he was able to help slave on that era wow it is refreshing in the story.

I completely agree with you, William was unarguably one of the best characters in the story. I admired his continuous support to Lily.

William is such a character that I admired. The help and support he showed towards Lily in her making music with the piano is such an amazing one.

It was definitely lovely. Lilly felt secure and happy in Willy's presence while Willy's hunger to showcase her talent makes him tap deeper and rekindles his own.

I agree. Their relationship is amazing. William is the best kind of father I've read for such a long time. Lily also has great care for her father to help him in his life interests.

William is my favorite character. Especially when I read about Lily and James' dad. They were ruthless slave owners. William is a kind man. He worked for the saving of slaves. That was rare at the time.

I love the setup where he helps Lily with her career, and Lily helps William find his love of music again. I think their relationship in this book is absolutely phenomenal and wanted to hear others opinions!
Totally agree! Their relationship is admirable and I really like the way William treated Lily and helped her

Their relationship was one of the best parts of this book. William was the perfect foil for all of the other men in Lily's life. He was the only non-toxic male in this book.

First and foremost, my best character is Williams and I admired how he took Lily as a daughter. He is worthy of emulation. Despite his riches, he never took any slave.

How much William was ready to push Lily's career is the most amazing thing I read in this book. I love their relationship.
