Gravy's 2022 reading record

Members of the forum can keep notes about their reading. You can post your notes and opinions about what you're reading. Kind of like a personal reading blog, but in thread format, and where other members would be able to read and interact with you. And, of course, you would be able to read and interact with other members.

Not a great deal of reading done this time.

I really enjoyed it! It's not an easy read; a good amount of violence, and while it's under the guise of being supernatural, it's made abundantly clear that that's just a metaphor (and while it's a metaphor for something specific (by the authors own words), it could easily be a metaphor for multiple types of targeted violence).
It's pretty long (a bit over 500 pages, if I remember correctly), but I had it finished in about a week (and only that long because I'm still fairly slow).
In other words, I really, really enjoyed it!

Hi there.
So I'm curious.... Your currently reading list, are these books actually books you literally ready now, something like a bit of each book a day or are these books, just a list on what you want to read? Lol sorry I might sound a bit daft but if you literally read these books kind of all at once, I need to know how on earth you do it?
I'm just a kind of person that can only read one book at a time just coz I want to get the full experience of the book and to have different genres all at once it feel like I'm not doing justice to each book.

Yep. All of them at once. *lol*

I used to read only one book at a time. I can't say exactly how it started. I was in a slump, which led to me starting multiple books that I wound up being unable to finish, which somehow morphed into me being a die hard poly reader.

I basically just pick up whatever suites my mood/situation.

It's definitely not for everyone, but it's also not as complicated as it seems, and is fairly common.
It's kind of like actively watching multiple series; they're all different, so my brain compartmentalizes them.

I actually feel kind of the opposite. If I force myself to stick to a single book when my brain wants me to read something else, I'm failing to enjoy it at the level I otherwise would.
I can still devour a book without switching to a different one. If it grabs me, it grabs me, and all of my attention goes to it. But I can also start missing the variety. *shrugs*
