Yeah, but in my opinion, the word of God actually starts making sense where science fails to make sense.

The Book of Psalm is my favorite book in the Bible. So many of us can relate to David and his emotions. He was man after God's heart. For every situation, crisis, mental health issue, etc., the Book of Psalm is the book but so is the entire Word of God: Best self-help book around.

The interesting thing from your review is that these teachings seem very Buddhist as well. Many western cultures are based on principles that allow them to escape pain. It seems that these psalms teach about how distraction leads you back to the same point.

Joy is definitely a jewel to attain.

I like the fact that the material is awesome because it is religious related. Good read.

Psalms is a very popular book. And I most love it for its wide range of human emotions. It is not your typical "spiritual", "otherworldly" kind of book. Thanks for this wonderful review. I should get this book.

Thank you, cpru68,for this well-written review. I am intrigued that this book delves into the effects of self-talk as already appearing in PSALMS. Also, I like that this book references solid reasoning for why God and science do work effectively together. Again, thank you for such a great review!

The author sounds well-studied on the topic he presents. The Bible truly is the best self-help guide in existence.

By examining one's inner dialogue, better mental health can be gained, and one can put this into practice instantly without drugs or a practitioner standing by. I think this is a wonderful book.

As a former Bible scholar, I am often frustrated by the misuse of the Bible, especially the Psalms; however, it sounds like in your review that he has taken a valid approach. I think I will add this one to my reading list! Thanks for the review.
