I wonder how culture is one of the aspects causing women to join Islamic Jihad. More reason for me to read the book. Fascinating review!

I don't want to give too much away, but I will say that in a lot of those types of cultures, women are treated as property. They are isolated from the outside world except, perhaps, by internet. It's definitely thought-provoking.

Thanks for another insightful review, as always. :) The book sounds very interesting and timely. I like that the author includes actual stories of women who became, or almost became, radicalized. Very eye-opening.

Thanks bookowlie! It was definitely eye-opening to me. I have one Dunkin Donuts where the employees are always wearing veils. I've begun to see them a bit differently now.

Yes, there were a few women that got lucky. However, their lives will still never be the same. How do you fit back into your community after something like that? Thanks for your comments.

This book highlights the truths and non truths that influenced the social dynamics of America and the world after 9/11. The review provided an important insight into what the story line portrays and the major components that make it a 4 star rated book.
