Yes, I hope it does get edited thoroughly. Those wrong word errors are really distracting! Thanks for commenting.Shrabastee wrote: ↑03 Oct 2018, 04:30 It is too bad about the editing, otherwise the book sounded like a very honest and intimate account of Paris's life. I would like to read this book. Thanks for the insightful review!

This wouldn't normally be the type of book I would read, but thanks to your great review I will check this one outEven if you don’t like memoirs or don’t normally read them, I’d recommend that you try this. It doesn’t descend into rambling as memoirs can - the focus on the author’s growing strength is sustained throughout. However, if you prefer fantasy or fiction over real life stories every time, then this is not for you.

Yes, exactly. Thanks for stopping by.stacie k wrote: ↑04 Oct 2018, 11:08 I love the message of hope in this memoir, and the author's example of forgiveness. The contrast between the image we portray to the world and the inner reality is a real issue people struggle with. I feel sorry that Paris had such a difficult childhood, but I'm glad she grew strong through it.

Thank you for your kind commentEva Darrington wrote: ↑05 Oct 2018, 14:11 I enjoyed your review very much. What an intriguing and difficult story. The foster system is a delicate subject that sounds like it was handled well in this memoir. I am glad there is an overall message of hope. I will skip the book for now but appreciate your thorough and candid review.

That's right - the power of naming is a strong theme. Thanks for reading and replying.Julie Green wrote: ↑06 Oct 2018, 16:25 Excellent review and the book sounds impactful. Changing a name goes to the heart of identity - that really struck me.

Thanks for your comment. Which sentences were too complex to be accessible, out of interest?Fozia-Bajwa wrote: ↑07 Oct 2018, 03:01 read the review of the book Finding Paris, A Memoir of Hope. I observed one thing in your review and that is complexity of the language and sentences which are not completely accessible. Anyway the we can get information about Paris and their people.
