I too am not particularly fond of nonfiction books but this one was worth reading. Thank you for your kind comments.

Fantastic review. I know absolutely nothing about Bosnia, this sounds like a must-read.

Excellent review. I have spent time working in the Balkans and came to appreciate how integral history is to the present day. It sounds like this book does justice to the complexity (and bloodiness) of that history.

Hi, Thank you for the interesting review. I love it that you have actually written about authors background as well. Though not usually a thing that I care about when selecting or reading a book, in some context an author having a Ph.D. can make reading more interesting for sure.

Very comprehensive review! This sounds like a book that is very well-written but I don't think I am up for anything this complex about this particular region right now. You did a great job of revealing pertinent info that let me decide whether I am interested. Thanks!

Very cool book. I love history and learning and this is one area where I could definitely learn more. Great review and I love the fact you can fill a large portion of the 400 word requirement with just the title of the book!

I have always had a passion for history. Though I am usually not very keen to read books from non-fiction genre. However, this one seems to be a very informative read.

Thank you for the great review.

Thank you for the thorow reply. It does sound like you really got into the book and enjoyed it. Though non-fiction is not my go-to genre, it sure is good to know more about the history that forms our current lives. The author having a science degree makes it even more impressive to have him actually write a book that a regular reader can enjoy.

Thank you for your review

This book sounds interesting as I am a fan of both historical fiction and non-fiction.

Far too many Americans seem uninterested in our own history, not to mention, the history of other countries. Perhaps if we read more and focused more on history other than our own it would benefit us a great deal.

I have often wondered what would happen if there was a national reading list for all US children when they were in school in addition to text books that usually skim over history and fail to make it as interesting to the youth as it should be.
