This book sounds interesting as I am a fan of both historical fiction and non-fiction.
Far too many Americans seem uninterested in our own history, not to mention, the history of other countries. Perhaps if we read more and focused more on history other than our own it would benefit us a great deal.
I have often wondered what would happen if there was a national reading list for all US children when they were in school in addition to text books that usually skim over history and fail to make it as interesting to the youth as it should be.
