The overall life story of the author is interesting but as you mentioned it should have some strong theme that push the reader to opt a book just at a glance. Thanks for this honest review.

Thank you for stopping by and the review. I agree that you need something to "hold" a book together by the end.

"I do not understand the purpose of this book. It felt like a relative telling “remember when” stories at a family get together. " This statement is exactly why I did not read this book. I think a lot of memoirs end up being that way. This is a great review. I enjoyed it, and I'm glad to have read your take on it. When I saw it as book of the day, my initial inclination was a huge "no." Glad to know I wasn't too hasty and missed out on a great book.

I've seen a few books like this lately. There is no imperative or rationale offered as to why the reader should wish to learn about the author's childhood..
