I like that Jimmy worked and gave back to the community that nurtured him, even though he probably had the means to relocate elsewhere. Great review!

Jimmy's mom passing away when he was twelve years old must have been difficult. It is interesting that even though his dad sent Jimmy and his brother to a home for boys, they were able to see their family during the holidays and keep their family relationships. The home for boys sounds like it was a loving place to live.

I admire people who experienced a lot of tragedies but still emerged optimistic, positive, and unswayed by the ills that could have destroyed and transformed them. In our individual human flaws and failings, we all deserve that chance at redemption, too. Thank you for your well-written review.

I agree with you! You necessarily don't need to met a person in-person to know about that person. I experienced this recently in a heartfelt read. Seemed like this book has touched your heart, and I very much like to read a book that had the ability to touch a reader's heart and too see that person through the book. Thank you for this delightful review!

Great review! :tiphat:
Loved the comment of yours "The lessons woven into the narrative are not rocket science (although he was a rocket scientist!)." Other than the fragmented sentences and errors it sounds like you really enjoyed the book.

A story following the life of man who was loved by many sounds touching. The author shares her father's story and Legacy. Adding photographs personalize it. It is impressive that he was a rocket scientist despite his humble beginnings. I am glad you enjoyed it despite the fragmented sentences. Thank you for the review!

I love true family stories, even if they usually make me cry. Amy honors her dad's memory with this book. I imagine him smiling up there. Jimmy touched many lives. May the book allow him to touch more.

It's nice to see a book about a humble man who dedicated his life to doing good. I am touched by the fact that the author is paying her respect to her father by writing his biography.

Memoirs are not my cup of tea but I will really love to try Like Saving Summer in a Jar since it sounds interesting. It is such a great inspirational book for instance the fact that Jimmy was able to give back to his community and other needy persons. It inspires me. Great review!

A beautifully written memoir by a daughter for her father. It showcases respect, love and a bond of father-daughter. I would love to read it. The title sure caught my attention. Added to the TBR list. Thanks for the lovely review. ❤

Great review. This sounds like a lovely memoir. I like that it sounds conversational and that the author wrote it as a tribute to her father and the life that he lived. Hopefully it gets that extra round of editing. Thanks so much for sharing.
