Thank you for your review! This sounds like a fascinating book and the fact that you refer to it as "captivating" is truly telling. I will definitely be reading this one!

This story really does sound inspiring. I can't believe all he went through, and yet he found the strength to persevere and rise above. Definitely looking forward to reading this. Thanks for your review!

Another great official review of a seemingly impactful book courtesy of OBC's platform. What an amazing journey of self discovery by Davin. I need to get and read this book. Congrats to the authors (Davin and his Mum) on #BOTD

Prison life interests me, and the reviews are overwhelming and glowing. I will have to read it.

Based on the review I don't think that the book is for me. I don't like to read a book with a lot of violence within the story. I also have no interest in learning about the reality of prison or the way the system works. I will pass on reading this book.

Thanks for the review. Davin's imprisonment for life is heartbreaking. Reaching the Shore is his life story written in the form of a non-fiction novel. His mother is the true writer who corrected and added a few elements to the novel. Davin, maybe, got the punishment for a murder at the age of 16. It is sad that he was not the person responsible for the criminal act and still got imprisonment for life. He learned yoga and karate in jail and taught other prisoners his skills. Davin is a wonderful character that makes you read this novel with eagerness.

I personally find these stories hard to read, so I will pass. However, I think that it will be a good book for people who want to develop a sense of empathy for young people and what they go through. The reality of prison is not something I want to read about in my spare time.

Sounds like a compeling and inspiring read about second chances, a story of survival and renewal

Reaching the Shore - By Bonnie Hane Hall and Davin Jake Hall

Re: Official Review - By John Makathimo

Reaching the Shore starts very well with childhood description of a dysfunctional family and their sensibilities. It is the evolving character of the children that leads one to understand Davin's eventual incarceration and the indignity and injustice of the prison system. But it is also a book of hope and triumph over adversity. I enjoyed the Kindle Sample and the review is spot on.

I can only thank OBC for making it possible to come across these kinds of books. I can only imagine what Davin must have gone through on his incredible journey of self discovery.

These kinds of stories are always difficult to read, but your excellent review of it makes me want to get started right away! I am always completely in awe of those who suffer the worst kinds of trauma and come out the other side with incredible insight and attitude.

Thank you for a well detailed and honest review. I've always loved non fiction books and this sounds like one I'll definitely love to have for myself.
