I don't normally go for mermaid tales or tails. :lol2: However your review really makes this sound interesting and a more historical subject than I thought.

Truth is stranger than fiction, indeed. Fictional work needs to have tinges of what's real to be believable, and yet the truth doesn't always turn out to be as expected. The same could also be said about reality. It's also fascinating knowing the origins and rationale of mankind's myths and lore as well as how direct observations and factual details could account for their make-believe nature. Thank you for the thoughtful review.

Oh, I love books that deal with representations of creatures around the world! Glad Jepson has filled in the mermaid gap. Sounds like a super cool coffee table book. Appreciate your review!

 It is fascinating to know that a lot of people share this fascination. Whenever I read or watch something about mermaids, it leaves a lasting impression for a long long time.
