Review of Embody Wholeness
"Embody Wholeness" by Judith Hoaglund walks readers through addressing a variety of illnesses and conditions using spiritual approaches such as guided shamanic journeys. This follows some ancient understanding that negative experiences and conditions are caused by the intrusion of unhealthy energies or spirits into the biofield or body.
The book explores different kinds of problems that may affect the present life, like unresolved past life issues, cordings, entities, and intergenerational and collective traumas, among others, backed with case studies. The healing session involves the practitioner, the client, and beings of light working closely together.
Judith is such a compassionate and professional healer. I could feel the love and warmth with which she handled each client. She takes time to explain every process, making sure that her clients are comfortable, ask the right questions, and are safe in the spirit realm.
I picked this book out of curiosity, and it proved to be an incredible read. It was beautiful to see many similarities to my indigenous Igbo tradition. For example, our tradition accepts that diseases and misfortunes are caused by evil spirits. When a practitioner of this belief system is sick or suffers misfortunes, they consult with traditional priests and healers to perform restorative rituals and sacrifices. The Igbo tradition also believes in reincarnation and past lives. In my community, practitioners understand that whatever unfolds in one's current life is in line with what they agreed on in the spirit realm. That is why when someone dies painfully, it is said, "May they obtain a more favorable agreement in their next life." Furthermore, our tradition recognizes the existence of spirits and a special spirit guide. We have a saying that when translated roughly means, "You will exhaust yourself if you neglect the pacing designed by your spirit guide."
On a personal level, this book has led me to examine a couple of incidents that have happened in my life. Reading about entities and soul loss, I feel that something may have gone wrong somewhere in the past. I was operated on when I was in high school. I think shortly after that, I sometimes find myself feeling low-spirited. I would leave the class, telling my friends that "I want to see myself." I would retire to a lonely place, confused and wondering what was happening to me. This condition was never given due attention. I am hoping I can schedule a session with Judith in the nearby future.
This book may not appeal much to those who do not subscribe to beliefs like reincarnation or practices like ancestor healing and soul retrieval. I feel the major problem is that most of these ancient practices are dismissed as superstitious beliefs. I hope more research will be conducted on spiritual healing modalities. This is not about one's religious belief. It is about a collective effort to better understand our human conditions.
The editing is impressive. I found just one grammar error in the book. I hope this will be fixed in a subsequent edition. I rate this book five out of five stars because it is insightful and respects readers' personal opinions. There is no solid reason to deduct any stars.
"Embody Wholeness" is recommended to anyone who wishes to explore realms beyond the physical plane or seek the help of beneficent higher beings.
