The book, "Garden Design for Everyone Volume II," was written by Robin Johnson. There is one line in the book that says, "Planting trees and shrubs without a plan will result in a collection of plants." Until now, I believed that a collection of plants constituted a garden. But when I read this particular line and the content of the book, it made me realize that gardening involves plans, drawings, techniques, research, and, importantly, choosing the right things if you want a well-planned garden.

The chapters primarily concentrate on the planning process, covering topics such as soil, structural principles, hedges, and paths. Each chapter provides helpful information, such as how to prepare your soil properly and how creating home compost was both useful and enjoyable.

The important part of the process is designing the garden with a perfect plan, which includes analyzing the site, scale, proposition, and climate and creating a list of suitable plants and trees that meet your requirements. Drawings are also essential, as they help to provide a rough idea of how the garden may look if this particular plan is implemented, so it's beneficial to sketch out your dream garden using proper techniques.

The section titled "The Decorative Principle" in the garden planning is visually pleasing because of the numerous beautiful flower pictures featured. Although I can't pronounce all the plant names, I can confidently say they are beautiful and will enhance any space. For example, "Snow in the Summer" is truly unique in name. Similarly, another section discusses structural principles, hedges, and pathways. This section covers the types of pathways and hedges, how to choose the right one, and their benefits, for example, like hedge size. What surprised me was that the placement of a rock also follows a specific system; it must be executed correctly, which can be quite challenging.

The author used drawings, illustrations, and real pictures to make information easy to understand and to showcase how the garden will look when the discussed plans are implemented. The picture of trees, plants, flowers, pathways, hill views, hedges, and rocks is provided, which presents visual information about their appearance and how they will look after arrangements. There is a list of plant and tree names provided according to the climate, look, region, availability of space, and season. The book concludes with a depiction of a rose garden in each season.

I rate this book a 5 out of 5. I liked the illustrations, handwritten drawings, pictures of beautiful flowers and plants, exemplary pictures to support the theory, the detailed information, the care shown to teach right for the garden lovers, and finally, educating the readers about gardens and how they should be maintained with care and knowledge. For all the above reasons, I love this book and didn't find any disliked elements, and I thank the author for the information. Therefore, I give this book a perfect rating. The editing is good and visually pleasing, so I didn't find any errors in the editing department. I recommend this book to garden lovers to take valuable information from it and plan their gardens well.
