I find the recounting of experiences presented interesting and useful.it is interesting to note the bizarre practices that had been around during those days,or still going on?this would make us aware that such things are going around us it may not be as exactly what had been, but in some other forms of violence.it is useful at the same time to have heard and read of this, so to open our hearts and minds and eventually nudge us to move to end this type of human suffering.

This is an interesting look into a cult-like religion. We're shown the scarier side of devotion and corruption. Rabii sounds like a moral individual.

This novel is an autobiographical depiction of an African-American man brought up in a fanatical religion. It tells the story of a Rabbi who became the Prince but he is so skeptical about the ancient religious order. He questions many fundamental issues of the doctrine.

Robin R Rabii. has written an interesting autobiographical novel and he tells about a cruel and fanatical religious order that he defied.

I am glad that Rabii grew up in a loving family to offset the cruelty in the cult-like Order he grew up in. I have never heard of such a religion and just cringe when reading your review about the atrocities that happened to the children. It is amazing that the author can tell his story from this tragedy and be able to find some humor in it.

I am amazed how free this cults can be. They can do all they want. I like books that reveal the truth behind.

I was drawn to the idea of the author sharing his personal experiences with a fanatical religious order. However, I have sampled the book and I found his writing style much too abstract, repetitive and confusing. I know how difficult it must be to recount such experiences, but his metaphorical associations are not enough to keep me tuned in to the story itself. Thanks for an insightful review, though.

The Genesis of the book is different with what is inside the book, I find myself in a deep sadness for what rabii was doing to other people, Thanks for historic and spiritual book.

This story was quite unexpected from the title of the book. I found it to be a thought provoking account of life in a cult. Rabii has written this novel from his own recollections of his childhood and young adult experiences until he was able to reject this belief system. The topic does cover disturbing situations. I could easily empathize with him as he related how he felt about the beatings and other forms of cruelty toward the children, from the adults.

Sounds like a horrific life. The author Rabii, the black Prince knows that the acts of their religious sect was brutal and amoral. The story sounds really interesting and I'm downloading it right now.

By just looking at the cover pagr, I got the impression that this some autobiography and I may not like it. But reading your review made me change my decision. It seems like a different but good book. So, I will definitely give a try. Congratulations on being BOTD

This book sounds like it describes some fantasy fiction's fanatical society. But this isn't fantasy, and I'm just so curious.thanks

This is a wonderfully written review. I am not at all interested in this book, but you actually make it sound very interesting and appealing. I just don't care for memoirs in general and don't want to read about emotional and physical abuse or fanatical religions.

I'm blown-away by the facts in your review. I have never read a book about a cult before except for watching a film called Drive Angry. This review drew my interest towards this read, and I am happily putting it in my to-read list. Thank you for your review!

This book looks so different. It was hard to read about the beatings that occurred upon the women, but it's a fascinating story. I look forward to reading it.

Although an interesting premise, I wouldn't be able to handle reading the cruelty described in your review so I added to my not interested in reading shelf. Just not a fan of cults and religion as topics in general.
