Review of Higher Connections
A humorous and thought provoking read on marijuana and spirituality, Eric and Alexandra Right’s Higher Connections is an interesting look at the ways that marijuana might improve a person’s life. It's so interesting to learn about the magic that unfolds in one’s brain with the help of marijuana.
The book begins with an introduction to Eric and Alexandra Right and their experiences with marijuana: Eric Right is the primary contributor, while Alexandra Right contributes her bits throughout the book. The story describes the improvements to the couple’s relationship since Right started using marijuana: when he’s high, the book says, he feels more connected to his wife and others, and in ways he never knew before. Right's conclusions are that marijuana has changed his life for the better. Eric states it has made him more empathetic, peaceful, and communicative.
The takeaway, based on the couple’s story, is urging them to use marijuana to forge deeper, more meaningful connections in their own lives. A suggested methodology is outlined: partake of the drug; keep your mind and heart open; document your resultant thoughts and feelings for later, sober evaluation. To further support this theory, the book includes chapters on the history and science of cannabis. There's not a lot of information on the legalities across the nation other than very lightly touching on legalization and thedecriminalization of cannabis. The book’s later chapters giveaway to thoughts on spirituality, paranormal activity, and premonitions. These later chapters contain a lengthy explanation of reproduction and the potential creation of the soul from a very different perspective. Prepare to be intrigued!
The book’s claims about marijuana use creating special connections are so fascinating. Right shares an interesting theory: for Right, marijuana opens his third eye to more emotions and connections, while his wife’s third eye closes with her marijuana use, allowing her anxious mind to slow and get quiet. I love the inward focus that is shared with the reader.
Right sharing his periods of being high are very amusing. Like, why a person should plan their own funeral and includes a ranking of which decade of one’s life is best to die in. Right touches on the realism of God. The author also did an amazing job with his vocabulary and perfectly written from a grammatical standpoint.
Eric and Alexandra Right’s Higher Connections is a humerous memoir of all the ways marijuana might improve your life.
