It is so hard to decide at that age what you want to do for your whole adult life. It's great that there is a tool, especially for such a hard subject matter. Pre-med is not an easy major and requires much commitment. If this book can help teens determine before declaring a major that they are or are not committed enough, it could save them wasted time and effort.
Medical school is definitely not easy (from what I've heard anyway. Never experienced it myself.) If you aren't even willing to do the work in the book, it's definitely not for you. I wish there were other tools out there like this for other professions when I was growing up!

What a wonderful idea for school kids to get them interested in medicine. I don't think I've ever seen before these types of books for kids. Great review, as usual.

Thanks! I thought it was a fabulous idea as well. I hope others write similar books!

This book can be a good manual for students aspiring to read medicine. I've not read it yet but hope it contains some practical aspects that can be applied in daily life. Thanks for the review.

It's not necessarily meant to be a practical book. But it would be great for medical students. Thanks for commenting.

At some point in my childhood, I also dreamt of becoming a doctor. I turned out to be an accountant and utterly refuse to do any doctoring in my profession.

I think this book is an admirable tool for aspiring medical practitioners. It can give students a feel for what they can (ability) and will (willingness) do. I agree that it should be more intended-user-friendly, though.

Thanks for your careful investigation of this book, Kandscreeley!

Giving case studies for the reader to interpret sounds like a great feature. Hopefully, they can fix some of the errors you mentioned.
