Incredible, isn't it? And the thing is, it's not really a food crisis in any proper sense, because there is no shortage of food. Thanks for reviewing this book - it sounds as though it was worth the effort, despite the errors. I'm not sure that it would be a good idea for people to set up their own food banks, though. Official ones, run by recognised organisations, are given private information so they can identify people genuinely in need.
Yes, not only a food crisis but there really was a shortage of food. Shortage of food was the bottleneck of all the problems presented in the book. During that time, Food Banks Britain ran out of food, too, despite the donations they got from the excess food from supermarkets. Food Banks Britain had served their purpose during that time. Otherwise, there would have been a lot of people who had starved to death other than those who had committed suicide.

Your review was quite informative and piqued my interest in this book. It's one thing to talk or write about helping others but the author is truly making a difference.

I'm personally happy with the way the author pointed out that food shortage ravaged those highly esteemed countries too. Hunger had been relegated to some parts of the world, forgetting that each financially booming country has its own share. I really can't picture a group of young men damaging food bins for food, and children not going to school.because they had nothing to eat, or people preferring to commit suicide than die of hunger. The world is messed up really. Thanks for this insightful review.

I had no idea that food banks existed nevermind in places like Canada and London. I am beyond shocked. It's terrible that even with a stable job it's still almost impossible to live a good life. Really informative review.
