Two Pastors One Vision by Eugene Shepphard is an autobiography dedicated to his wife. The book describes a prophecy that becomes a reality through non-compromising support from a loving spouse.

Eugene Sheppard was born in Virginia in a time of segregation. Black people were not allowed to attend nearby hospitals, and his birth took place at a hospital in Washington, D.C. His grandfather took him for a second time when he had pneumonia. Eugene recovered, but his grandfather did not survive his meeting with the disease. The author often contemplated this sacrifice and later saw it as part of a bigger plan to realise a prophecy. Eugene spent much of his life immersed in the church. From the age of 6, he had the Lord in his heart. In 1969, an evangelist friend invited Eugene to London to visit his ministry in Streatham. During this stay in London, whilst attending Sunday service, he heard the voice of God saying he had chosen him. These words, although frightening, convinced Eugene he had a higher purpose.

This autobiography takes the reader on a lifetime journey of working for God. From a young boy, the author had faith in his heart and a strong work ethic from a strict stepfather. The book depicts early childhood memories of the church and experiences of racism in times of segregation. The author has explained clearly how early experiences shaped him and how a divine calling and a prophecy shaped his life. The historical moments are fascinating, as are the relationship and financial struggles. I loved how all the tribulations experienced were essential stepping stones to achieving goals. This memoir is inspirational, and it shows that with courage and determination, we can prosper.

I thought it was beautiful how the author credits his successes to his wonderful late wife. Her legacy is powerful. Not only are the fruits of her labour physically apparent, but she has also left the readers with a message of courage and determination. The author hopes her attributes inspire others to listen to their hearts and bravely step towards their destiny. I loved the relationship the two pastors shared. Their marriage worked through communication, understanding, and a deep love and commitment to each other. They shared the same goals and passions and worked tirelessly to achieve their dreams and help people. It is nice that the couple were able to travel the world on exciting vacations, as well as work tirelessly for disadvantaged communities.

From humble beginnings to innovative buildings, technology hubs, and self-sustaining community pantries, the success shines through. The book is a testament to hard work, faith and perseverance. The relationship between the two pastors is inspirational. I loved the emotive recollection of an extraordinary life, and the descriptions of various countries are captivating. I enjoyed the addition of personal photographs throughout the book. The book is professionally edited, and I found nothing to dislike, so I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

I am grateful that Eugene survived when taken to the hospital and it also sad that his grandfather did not survive this illness. The book would be an enlightening resource.
