A very inspiring review. Indeed there's a ray of light at the end of every tunnel. We cannot judge a book by its cover. Thanks for such an insightful review.

I usually don't read memoirs, as they tend to seem somewhat boring to me. However, from your review this certainly does not seem to be the case. This book seems like a fascinating insight into a thrilling life. I might just have to give it a read!

Wow, at first I thought that this was a fictional book, but it makes it even more incredible if it was a memoir. I'm glad it's completely free for today, I definitely want to pick this up.

This kind of book is not my usual cup of tea, but your review has definitely encouraged me to pick it up. I got a general idea what the book entailed- an abused young man rising above his struggles and abuse, without being given away too much. This was very well written, and Executive Hoodlum has definitely been added to my must read list!

Thanks for the great review. You definitely made this book seem a lot more exciting than I though it would be. Memoirs have never particularly interested me before, but you have definitely changed my mind on this one

Although I like memoirs, I'm not interested in business, so I don't think this is one for me. Still, thanks for a great review :)

Memoirs are not my favorite genre. I find them hard to follow, even if I am familiar with the subject.

I love biographies and I have no doubt that I'll enjoy reading this memoir. But I must agree with one of the comments made here that from the book's title and cover picture one would think that the book is a fictional thriller and not a memoir.

I think it's great that he didn't let his father nor his father's reputation from stopping him. I also like the fact that he tells you where the other characters are now. I agree a lot of memoirs do not do that. I think I'll save this for another time though.

Thank you for the complete review. I liked that the story begins with the Chicago mob. It’s a great way to grab the reader’s attention.

Great review! I didn't know if this was fiction or truth when I started reading it, but you have solved that one for me. I'm also dumbfounded that he named the various characters; I would have thought he'd be dead after doing that. Perhaps the rest of the book will help me understand why not.

It's been a long time since I read a memoir, and your review has me interested! It's nice to find a memoir that's sincere, though it also does sound a little harrowing considering the domestic violence factor.

I look forward to reading this as this man's life in many ways I can relate to growing up in an "old-school" Italian family in Illinois and much of what he said is familiar to me as if I was talking to a cousin. I have always enjoyed memoirs, especially ones of this nature, regarding Italian heritage or organized crime.

Recently I’ve been reading a lot of memoirs, I may have to add this one to the list! :)
