Have you ever noticed that some people excel in their careers and maintain thriving relationships despite having average IQs? Their secret is emotional intelligence (EQ). This book explores the fundamental aspects of emotional intelligence, helps you understand its components, and recognizes its profound impact on our lives. It aims to equip you with the knowledge and tools necessary for success and fulfillment. Each new chapter builds on the previous one, incorporating practical exercises, real-life examples, and assessment tools. The wisdom in this book is essential for fostering healthier relationships, achieving career success, and navigating the complexities of modern communication. Interested? Grab a copy of Emotional Intelligence Unlocked by Liam Grant.

Liam begins by exploring the science behind EQ, examining the role of brain plasticity in shaping emotional intelligence. He skillfully guides us through the Emotional Intelligence Self-Assessment Test, teaching us how to score, analyze, and interpret the results. You will then dive deep into self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills as critical components of EQ. The author emphasizes that you need to keenly understand your emotions, strengths, and weaknesses. Once you gain self-awareness, strategies such as mindfulness and cognitive appraisal will help you stay calm under pressure. Notably, both EQ and IQ are relevant. Therefore, there is a need to balance mental and emotional skills. However, both EQ and IQ have their limitations left for you to uncover in the pages of this book.

This book emphasizes the essential roles of breathing and physical exercise in managing our emotions. He skillfully guides us through the various techniques and exercises, making the reader feel like part of a live physical class. Additionally, the book explores meditation, affirmations, visualization, and resilience as critical techniques for maintaining motivation. It also offers valuable insights into navigating romantic relationships, helping readers identify their partner's emotional needs, communicate effectively, solve conflicts, and maintain a strong connection over time. The application of emotional intelligence in the workplace, leadership, and family dynamics is particularly interesting. My favorite topic in this book revolves around emotional listening.

The editing team did well; I encountered zero errors while reading. There is nothing I dislike about this book to deny it a perfect rating. I rate this book five out of five stars because the practical nature of its content ensures that you can apply the knowledge in your daily life. I recommend it to lovers of self-improvement books.

Thank you for the review @Ingalwa Eugine. This sounds like an interesting book to learn how to build emotional intelligence to complement our IQ. However, I'm looking for something more fundamental on the topic, that covers the definition and types of EQs, and why we need it, or how it is important in our lives, before I move onto building it.
