[I]Breaking the Mold: Remodeling Your Way to Success by Fabian Videla tells the story of the author’s life, including the skills and lessons he learned and applied to build his success. Videla talks about his humble beginnings in Argentina, the family members who influenced him positively, and his resilience in never giving up on his dreams despite the naysayers. He’d always been industrious and subsequently moved to the US, where he incorporated his first company. His vast experience provides readers with a wealth of information on the requisites of starting and running a company/business, such as offering excellent customer service, dealing with difficult clients, billing clients, and many more. He advises that a business should have laid-out systems and procedures, and he provides other sound business advice, such as not using personal money to finance a client’s business, not spending money received when the job is not yet complete, having clauses to protect you in contracts, etc. He also emphasizes the importance of continuous learning and networking.

[I]Breaking the Mold: Remodeling Your Way to Success[/I] by Fabian Videla was an easy read. I was captivated by Videla’s story, and from the very first chapter to the end, the book held my attention. This feat is quite impressive because it’s a nonfiction novel. I liked that there was a specific lesson at the end of every chapter. Videla’s life story is truly motivating, and he provides invaluable and great advice. A minor criticism is that some chapters with repeated points could have been merged for a more succinct read; for example, Chapters 15, 17, and 18 repeated points regarding the importance of having a proper structure with systems and procedures that should differentiate a business from a job. However, this minor criticism didn’t detract from my reading experience. As a result, I’m pleased to rate [I]Breaking the Mold: Remodeling Your Way to Success[/I] by Fabian Videla 5 out of 5 stars.
