I am not certain whether I will like or dislike this book, but I am sure that a book about world war is not a waste of time, being attempted of. Congratulations on being BOTD and thanks for the free giveaway

Hank seems to have lived a full life, not without its fair share of challenges. I like that he never gave up despite the challenges he encountered.

I'm not much on memoirs, biographies, or historical novels. I'm glad Hank finally achieved his dream in the end, but I'll give this book a pass. Thanks for the interesting review!

If Hank lied over and over to become a pilot, can we really trust his memoir at all? I might look into this one, because I like historical fiction and memoirs. But I might wait until I really need something to read before I give this a look. Thank you for the review.

A unique part of author's story is the occupation of Holland during the war. The historical account of Paul sounds interesting!
Feeling upset sometimes may be unavoidable, but acting distressed is always optional.

It sounded like Haank had lived a full life with the adventures he had. The "Dutch diploma" and the Holland war sound interesting to me. I added this to my to-read list.

This book follows the life of the American-born, but Dutch-raised, Hank Gillebaard as he navigates his way through the defining times in his life. I love crafting of the story line. Great review

It sounds like a memoire, but I'll try it :techie-studyinggray:

Some of Hank's methods for reaching his dream are frankly unconventional and raise some ethical questions. However, his persistence to make something of himself is undoubtedly inspirational. Great review!

Memoirs aren't normally my thing, however, I have read a very similar book of a soldier who helped liberate the Nazi concentration camps and the harrowing encounters he had. I may just have to give this one a go. I feel it is important their stories are told so the events of the wars won't be repeated. Thank you for your review.

The book is perfect for my research about Nazi. His determination in becoming a pilot is one of his strength despite of all the hardships he encountered.

Well, I have to admit ...just like you, I don't necesssarily agree with the protagonist's method of getting a job, a part of me still cant stop myself from appreciating the guy's guts. Personally, I could never attempt a job that I dont know much about. So, for that reason, I would like to read this book to check out how he did it. Thank you for your frank review. You made me want to read the book.
