Kalliope Barlis' book, Play Golf Better Faster, presents helpful techniques for improving your golf game swiftly. The author presents a structured approach divided into three sections: Using Your Brain, Practicing Your Game, and Playing Your Game. She follows it up with tips for maintaining a healthy body and mind by incorporating lifestyle changes, making this a wholesome reference manual.

In the first part, Kalliope Barlis emphasizes the role of the brain in influencing performance and provides strategies for building confidence and focusing on improvement. The author helps us train the brain and strengthen our beliefs. She recommends building on the best shots. She stresses practicing "amnesia" for the undesirable shots. The exercises guide the reader to sift out the mistakes and carry the learning from every shot forward to improve the game. Knowing our strengths and realizing we can make changes where and whenever required inspires and lends confidence. Overall, the practices have a positive influence on our performance. In this section, she also discusses topics like developing a strategy, the type of golf clubs, choosing the right instructor, and goal setting.

The second part is interesting. With the brain developed and modeled in line with pros, the author takes a deep dive into actual practice. I appreciate her attention to detail. She stresses building a better memory and becoming familiar with the golf course and the actual shots. I admire the thought and effort invested in breaking every aspect into micro-practices with specific targets to establish a routine. The third part deals with the peripheral components that focus on maintaining a healthy mind and body, which influence effective functioning. She also shares several reference materials for interested readers to explore.

The author has included neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), golf coaching, and numerous exercises in this book with the permission of renowned people in their specific fields. Furthermore, the author has over twenty years of expertise as a golf trainer. These facets ensure practicability while adding enormous value and credibility to the work. The book incorporates scientific research, anecdotes from well-known golfers, and her golf trajectory, substantiating her claims.

The book's well-thought-out structure and comprehensive coverage of mental and physical aspects, which present the teachings in a simplified format, make it a valuable resource for golf enthusiasts, beginners, and experienced golfers. The neuro-linguistic programming enhances the golfing techniques. Overall, the author ensures effective learning, improvement, and sustainability.

While reading, I encountered minor errors. They did not significantly impact my reading experience and don't warrant a reduced rating. However, I recommend a re-edit to ensure an error-free book. With no negative comments about any other aspect of this book, I rate the book five out of five stars. I highly recommend this book to golf enthusiasts, beginners, and experienced golfers alike. There is a lot for everyone to learn. I highly recommend this book and suggest exploring the author's concise version, a handy reference for quick golfing insights. Happy golfing!
