Even before highschool we needed to take two foreign languages in school, it was mandatory. I took English and German. French and Russian were also on the table, but somehow I shied away from them. After so many years, it was good I took English, as, in the meantime, it has become my main language.

LOL about the drunk pictures on Facebook! Good idea! I only hope that the prospective employer won't search in Google images for the candidate's name! Google has a long memory (aka cache).

I love learning new languages and its true, we tend to first fimd out about the swear words and all the things we don't generally find in a textbook. This feels really interesting. Thank you for the review.

Feels like a fun book not as a stand alone as you've rightly put it. A foreign student will also find it enjoyable for practice on language skills acquired. I liked how you brought out the essence of the book, thanks.

I was raised bilingual and will always be glad about it. It not only makes it easier for me to pick up other languages, but also, I think, helps with lateral and imaginative thinking through knowing different idioms and expressions.

I think the best part of other languages is looking at their idioms and expressions. Thank you both for commenting!

I have an interest in languages, so I think I would find the book fascinating. I particularly like that the author includes phonetic spellings. If a language book doesn't come with an accompanying audio cd, I think phonetics are really necessary.

Let's put it this way, I wouldn't have even been able to attempt to say it without the phonetics! Thanks!
