I am alien to historic books and struggles of the past, I think I should give this book a try.

Thanks for the review.

"Book that portrays the successful lives of Holocaust survivors emigrated from present-day Slovakia after 1953." This is what makes me want to read the book more. Thank you.

I like to read about strong people who did not let the error of their past define their future. And I think this book gives me just that!

This sounds like a very interesting and uplifting book. It is a great way to respond to something horrific like the Holocaust.

Thank you very much for that extensive review that also reminds us of history. Our friends had gone through, thanks to the author for having that desire to remind us where we are coming from.

The world truly has been through some horrible times, the Holocaust being one of them. Ordinarily, the image of people going through so much pain and suffering plus the fact that one is aware that it isn't just a cooked up story but actual history, is enough to send me racing for the hills. That's why I'm quite relieved that the author didn't hammer on that aspect but on the survivors' stories of hope, determination and eventual success. Definitely, when reading such, I'll be looking forward to the part where the survivor bounces back. Great job on a solid review!

I think it is wonderful that this book celebrates the survivors during the Holocaust. I enjoy reading about the positives through a time in history that caused so much misery! Well done on this review! I will have to check this out!

i have been lucky enough to watch a number of movies on World War 2 and the Holocaust. I cannot imagine what the survivor's went through. But the survivors showed great courage to get up from their near death experience and do something great with their lives. I am happy that the author makes it a point to celebrate the lives of the various survivors of the Holocaust. Many survivors went on to become very prominent individuals in the world.

I'm not a fan of non-fiction books but your review has made me change my mind. I definitely want to read this book that shares the aftermath of the Holocaust. The tragedy these individuals went through didn't bring them down and it shows that one can draw strength from their experiences. Thanks for such a great review raikyuu

The Jews facet in the book! Yes, readandsmile, this also holds a significant attraction for me. I can hardly resist books which feature the Jewish experience.
