A book that tells the true story of Polish slave laborer during the late stages of World War II sounds intriguing. It is good that the book is engaging, the characters are well developed, and the introspection did not slow the pace. It is also good the the book shed some light on that horrible period. Thank you for the review!

At first glance I thought this book was about the Biblical story of Joseph who also became a slave. I'm glad I read this review to clear that misconception up!

WWII was a harsh time. This book is one of many autobiographies about it and I'm sure it's also as good. Thank you for the review!

Non-fiction is not my cup of tea but this one is really interesting. I like how you presented the style of the author because that one is important for me especially in this genre. The character development also sounds intriguing and I can't wait to read this one! The history embedded in this book is also one of the important eras I want to educate myself into. Thanks for the review!

Engaging review. It sounds interesting, and to be honest, I don't read book of this genre. Maybe it is time for me to give this book genre a shot in reading. I was curious about how this story would turn out.

I'm excited to read this book. To get an insight of a mind that young and such a hardship in time. It focuses on Nazi Germany but also just to show how are young people are able to get through tough times because there are many other major eras in history, with such great War, that went on. Shows how strong the poor or the minority are.

The War Within, The Story of Josef, is a story of humanity's unremitting shame. In a world full of life and hope, the evil of out heart reveals itself in a striking way too difficult to imagine. It is a book for everyone to read, do we can checkmate certain thoughts that lingers within.

It is true. The more stories there are about the World War II, the more one gets mixed feelings. Some feelings are bitter. Other feelings are sweet, especially in instances when the enemy (Nazi German) is portrayed extending a helping hand to a 'slave'. It is a good read.

This is a historical true story highlighting the life of a Polish teenager and the hostility of slavery. This book is free on amazon Kindle and has an inciteful onlinebookclub review. Congrats on being the BOTD.

Great review! I always love reading various accounts of the past and the times of historical importance such as Nazi Germany. Joseph Walkow's story certainly sounds heart-breaking and intriguing. I might not be picking this up since it's non-fiction, but because you say it reads smoothly, I might just try it sometime.
