Review of Phobia Relief
The brain is a small, complicated organ that can either build you to your destiny or destroy you, depending on how much control, understanding and management you have over it. What do you fear the most? Is it seeing clowns, dogs, or snakes? If I told you that what you fear is the big, horrifying picture in your mind staring at you that causes you this turmoil, other than the actual object, would you believe me? Would you also agree that this fear that has cost you a lot is something you have learned?
Phobia Relief by Kalliope Barlis is a non-fiction book that helps readers shrink their fears that keep hovering over their lives so that they can achieve the freedom to grow themselves and become the best versions of themselves. The book helps readers understand that all our fears originate from our thoughts and mindset, making them more aware of how they think about what they fear. Readers learn that if they are able to control and change how they think, they can change how they feel about their fears. To gain more insight, the author provides a step-by-step procedure to change how one thinks about their fears so that they eliminate them and attain freedom to do what they desire.
What I liked the most about the book were the examples that the author used. These examples reveal to us the different phobias and fears that people have. They inform readers that they are not alone and can overcome their fears and achieve great success. I also enjoyed the various exercises at the end of the discussions, which helped readers discover and better understand themselves. The other thing that I liked was the author's attitude toward the past. He cares less about the causes of the fear that has happened in the past; instead, he is very focused and determined to solve the problem that will change the future. I found this a great mindset since it helps readers focus on where they are going rather than where they are coming from. With this kind of mentality, the reader will be able to accomplish anything they set their minds to.
There is nothing I disliked about the book; I enjoyed the client session where the author revealed how he helps his clients overcome their fears, which readers can practice to eliminate or shrink their fears. I also love that the author's steps are easy to grasp and practical. The fact that one might have suffered from a particular fear for years and can find a solution in minutes is fascinating.
The book is professionally edited since I could only find three mistakes in the entire text. For this reason and the reasons mentioned above, I award this book five out of five stars. I recommend this book to readers struggling with fears that they have had trouble managing and are willing to change their situation. The readers will learn how to weaken and shrink their phobias to help them break free from that bondage and attain the freedom that sets them forward to success.
